I'm working on a new presentation/class/panel topic -
The Parsimonious Steampunk - Ideas and strategies for creating Steampunk clothing and
accessories – without exceeding the limit on your credit card!
This is a subject that I've broached in my Putting the Punk in Steampunk Clothing presentation, but I really want to focus on the Cheapside. This of course means that I need to get busy...
I picked up a bedskirt at the ARC last weekend. White ruffles, scalloped, with little purple and green flowers. Looks new. $3. It's going to be a petticoat, ruffled at the bottom, and with a cascade of ruffles down the back to get that long rear profile.
And then there's that shoulder bag that just needs a coat of leather dye to cover the "BOLIVIA" text written across the front. $1 from a garage sale.
Not to mention the beaded black net glovettes out of that $2 blouse. And to finish the cycling breeks. And...
I wish I could be so lucky in my other "life".
