Invited to a pot-luck tea? Don't know what to bring?
Teas usually include several "standards" -
Scones and spreads
Fancy cake (like the ones in the grocery bakery) or mini cupcakes
Plain cake or quick breads (also available at your local grocery bakery) like pumpkin or banana bread, lemon creme cake, mini muffins or even brownie bites
Tea sandwiches
Savories, think party appetizers - cream cheese and ?? pinwheels, bruschetta, potted crab with baguette toasts, cheese straws, mozzarella wrapped in ham or proscutto, mini quiches, brie in puff pastry, or even a variety of cheese cubes
Tea, of course - and other beverages for those who don't drink tea; lemonade, limeade, sangria, Mimosas
There are of course other fine things to bring to Tea - fruit in bite-sized pieces, cookies, deviled eggs, nuts, and fancy candies. Just remember to keep things in one or two bite-sized pieces. Another consideration is that we have guests with a wide variety of dietary restrictions, so a wide variety of food is a great thing. And please leave chips and dips for the Super Bowl party.
For the cooking-inclined, there are a number of our recipes at http://cookeatshare.com/groups/denver-victorian-and-steampunk-society-13124
I hope I've given you some ideas, and sources for things that you can pick up at the super market if you don't have time to cook. (Feel free to add ideas in the comments.)
